Polycet Notification for Minorities 

 NOTIFICATION ATTENTION OF MUSLIM/CHRISTIAN & OTHER MINORITY (SIKH/LINGUISTIC) CANDIDATES 

Minority candidates who have not qualified or not appeared POLYCET-2014 are informed to submit an application on a plain paper containing details like Name, Father Name, Sex, Date of Birth, Caste Category, Minority, Qualification SSC with Grade, Contact Mobile number, address for communication, supported with Xerox copies of S.S.C, Study Certificates, Minority Certificate or (SSC T.C) along with a demand draft for Rs.350/- drawn in favour of Convenor, POLYCET-2014 payable at Hyderabad, to consider them for the leftover seats, if any (after exhausting all POLYCET-2014 qualified minority candidates), only in the following Minority Polytechnics: 

1. Govt. Polytechnic for Minorities, Guntur. 

2. Govt. Polytechnic for Minorities, Kurnool. 

3.Govt.Polytechnic for Minority (Women), Badangpet, Hyderabad. 

The information should reach in person or by registered post/Speed post/Courier to Convenor, POLYCET-2014 Admissions, at Sanketika Vidya Bhavan, Masab Tank, Hyderabad-500028 on or before 08.06.2014 before 5.00 PM. The relative merit list of applied candidates will be placed in the website: https://polycet.nic.in on 11.06.2013. Minority Candidates who have secured a rank 

in POLYCET-2014 need not apply.

About SBTET

The Director of Public Instruction (DPI) used to head the Technical-Education also at the time of formation of AP. To help speed up the process of development of Technical-Education, a Board in the name & style of  “STATE BOARD OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING” was created vide G.O.Ms No.371 Edn dated 26.2.1957. The Joint Director (Technical-Education) of D.P.I. used to act as secretary of this newly formed Board. The Board is formed as a statutory body under the AP. Education Act 1982 (act 1 of 1982), an act of assembly, in the present form, vide G.O.Ms No.140 dated 24.4.1984. In accordance with the powers conferred by Sub-Sections (1) & (2) of Section 6 read with Sub Section (1) of Section-99 of the said Act, the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh have established a Board of Technical Education "The State Board of Technical Education and Training, AndhraPradesh" in G.O.Ms No.140, dated 24-4-1984.  The Board had came into existence from 1st-June-1984.

POLYTECHNIC COMMON ENTRANCE TEST -2014 (CEEP)

The State Board of Technical Education and Training (sbtetap.gov.in), Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad will conduct “Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (POLY CET)” for the candidates seeking admission in to all Diploma Courses in Engineering / Non Engineering / Technology offered at Polytechnics / institutions (including Aided & Unaided Private Polytechnics / Institutions running as second shift in Private Engineering Colleges) in Andhra Pradesh State for the academic year 2014-15. 

Eligibility to appear for POLYCET-2014(CEEP). 

Candidates who have passed SSC / its equivalent and recognized by the Board of Secondary Education, A.P., Hyd are eligible. The candidates who have compartmentally passed / appearing for SSC are also eligible to apply to polycet. However, they must have passed in all the subjects 

before seeking admission. 

Detailed information regarding eligibility, age and syllabus etc. are given in the “POLYCET-2014 Instructions-Booklet” which will be supplied along with the APPLICATION FORM and is available for sale at a cost of Rs 20/-(Rupees Twenty only) at all Govt Polytechnics, Pvt. Polytechnics & AP online centers, for details visit http://sbtetap.gov.in) 

How to apply: 

State Board of Technical Education & Training, AP, Hyderabad has made arrangements to file online applications at various AP online/Helpline centres/ through payment gate way. The detailed list of these centres is available at http://sbtetap.gov.in website. In order to file application through these centers a filing fee of Rs.330/- (Rupees Three hundred and thirty only) (Excluding Application Cost) has to be paid to the operator by the candidate. 

The detailed procedure of filling up of the application form is available in the instructions booklet supplied along with the Application Form. Candidates are advised to read these instructions carefully before filling-up the Application duly filled in the application form is to be given to the Operator for filing Online. 

IMPORTANT DATES

1. Commencement of sale of POLYCET-2014 booklet along with application (Booklet cost including Application Form for Rs 20/- ) 06 -04-2014 (Sunday) 
2. Commencement of filing of online application form for Rs 330/- from Helpline centres/Aponline centres /Through payment gate way 06-04-2014 (Sunday) 
3. Last date for sale of POLYCET booklet and filing of online application 28-04-2014 (Monday) 
4. Date of conduct of POLYCET-2014 21-05-2014 (Wednesday) Time: 11.00 AM to 1.00 PM 

The Admission Schedule:

The admission schedule (Web Counseling) will be notified in all leading Newspapers after declaration of POLYCET results. Candidates are advised to note that admissions into polytechnics for the academic year 2014-2015 shall be made on the basis of Web Counseling, where in candidates can opt for any course at any polytechnic in the order of priority and the allotment shall be made for his/her best preferred choice based on his/her merit and other admission rules in vogue. Details of Web counseling and helpline centres will be available on our website http://sbtetap.gov.in and shall also be notified in all leading Newspapers after declaration of POLYCET RESULTS. 

IMPORTANT DO’S FOR CANDIDATES. 

1. Please note that only one Hall ticket will be generated against an APPLICATION FORM. 
2. Fill the SSC Hall ticket Number, Year of Pass and Date of Birth on the application by verifying your SSC Hall ticket /SSC Certificate or its equivalent, as the candidate data is taken from SSC database. 
3. The basic data pertaining to the candidates of other Boards is not available in the data base. The candidate has to visit any of the centres along with his photo for filing online application.
